| Scotland Has What It Takes |

I took to the streets of Kilsyth on Saturday 16th May along with Cllr David Key, Jamie Hepburn MSP and local SNP members to campaign for the election to the European Parliament. That election will take place on 4th June 2009.
We were distributing campaign postcards with the message that Scotland has what it takes to come through the recession.
In Scotland, we’ve got what it takes to come through this recession strongly. Certainly people are finding it hard at the moment, but with the SNP government having reduced and abolished business rates for our smallest businesses and having frozen the council tax for two years running, the ground for recovery is being laid.
Of course much more could be done with independence, and that will form a large part of the message we take to people in Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East in this European election and the Westminster election to follow, but we should remain confident that in Scotland we have a government that is looking out for the best interests of Scotland. |
